Highlights and Thank Yous!

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention one of the major highlights of attending the Southern California Genealogical Society Jamboree 2010.

Major, major highlight – hanging with the Geneabloggers in the unofficial blogger lounge.   I linked to you all in my blogroll (even the ones that couldn’t be there – we missed seeing you).   Please know that I had so much fun meeting all of you hard working genealogy bloggers.  Each and everyone of you contribute so much. I also enjoyed meeting fellow Canadians Dave Obee,  John Reid and the folks from Internet Genealogy.

Dinner at Denise Levenicks’s (The Family Curator) Thursday night was a special treat after we filled Geneablogger Welcome Bags with all the great stuff our sponsors had provided.  If you were the recipient of a bag, please blog about the contents and how you used it your research.

Special thanks to Denise, Amy Coffin of WeTree,  and Thomas MacEntee of High-Definition Genealogy for including me in the Geneablogger Welcome Bag Project, and THANK YOU to our sponsors! This project was a lot of fun.

Thanks A.C. Ivory of Find My Ancestor for your help with the flickr set up.  A.C. is gathering Geneablogger Jamboree photos in a special group on flickr.  Please post your photos.  Congrats to Elyse Doerflinger of Elyse’s Genealogy Blog on her recent graduation from college.  Watch these two over the next few years as they develop their considerable genealogy expertise even further.

A big thank you to Paula and Leo and all the members and volunteers of the Southern California Genealogy Society for making this a GREAT conference.

It was a great weekend away for Reg and myself.  Reg is a good sport and puts up with all this genealogy.  We might be converting him but in the meantime we are still searching for wood turning conferences for him in conjunction with genealogy conferences for me.  (I hear there is one in Salt Lake City….)

The Jamboree Jogging was fun and we got a good workout at the genealogy gym.

We’ll be back.
